Alright so I’ve decided I want to make $100,000 on the Internet in 365 days. Although it’s 361 days now. No pressure!
How exactly am I going to do that?
I have a blog, www.bodyshapestyle.com, which I began last year. Then I met my boyfriend, interest waned, or rather shifted to different activities, and I haven’t updated regularly for over a year.
Despite that the blog is still generating a fairly consistent amount of traffic. It’s not huge, but nothing to be sneezed at either. It is not generating any money though which is a bit of an issue.
I began the website because I wanted to learn about writing, Internet marketing and clothes. I thought I was serious but clearly not or I wouldn’t have been so easily distracted.
Now I know unequivocally I want to sell women’s clothes. Lots and lots of them. And, more importantly, I’d really like to help women dress well.
I also feel very strongly that I need to approach this from a more organised perspective. In the past I treated my blog much like a hobby. I was just mucking about whilst I learnt what to do and how and generally had quite a lot of fun.
Now, in light of my goal, I see it as a business.
In any business the first step is always market research. Unless I can say with authority that this is what the market is searching for then I am just mucking around again.
Luckily for me in part of that mucking around phase I bought Market Samurai, keyword researching software so I can keep my outgoings to a minimum a fairly essential issue at the moment. Unluckily I never did learn how to use it.
So my next step is to learn how to use my software and do market research. Yay!
Also, I’m experiencing technical difficulties as I haven’t updated any of my software for about a year so I really need to address that now as well.
Lucky I have the time really.
