I have thoroughly enjoyed my Christmas break. Well most of it any way.
I spent Christmas Eve and Christmas Day at home, relaxing, reading books, watching True Blood: The Complete First Seasonon DVD. That, I have to say, was the highlight of the whole holiday.
On Boxing Day, the 26th we embarked on a road trip south. My partners family and my mother live 800 kilometers and 1,000 kilometers respectively, south of my home in South East Queensland and it makes for a great road trip.
I love road trips. I enjoy driving, I like being driven and I love exploring and finding new places.
That we spent so much of our time with family I found much more challenging. As with most families we enjoy each others company but large gatherings usually lead to some sort of conflict. I’m glad I went but equally glad to be home.
So I’ve spent the last ten days alternatively driving, spending time with family and trying to relax. I’m an introvert so the relaxing part was particularly important given the exposure to so many people.
What I didn’t do was any work. I did plan to, but things didn’t work out that way.
My challenge now is to pick up the pieces and move forward.
