I was listening to Bob Proctor this morning about The Law of Gender, which basically says that everything has a gestational period. That refers to the birth of, well anything alive, but also the birth of any ideas. The gestational period for ideas can be shortened by putting focus onto your goals. So, take some time and brainstorm ideas of how that’s going to work.
OK. So, I spent some time brainstorming. This is kind of how it went:
“Ummm…. well I could spend more time I suppose. Study more, write more. Spend more time finding out about what I’m doing. But you know I don’t actually have a lot of time, and finding more is just going to wear me out quicker. I need to keep some sort of balance going on. I could talk to more people I guess. I’m not sure that I know who to talk to so maybe that’s what I could do, find out. There’s heaps of tasks I can work on…”
You get the picture.
Then it occurred to me, what’s going to be most valuable right now is to take action. That what the whole waffle is about. Taking action. Again and again and again.
And that’s what I’ve been doing. Taking action. I’ve been doing stuff!
The problem is I’m unsure about how the action I’m taking is working out. I’m looking for reassurance that what I’m doing is working for me and you know if it was that simple everyone would be doing it. That is the whole point. I have a goal and I’m taking action. That action may be completely off point, I may be wasting my time and doing a bunch of useless tasks that in the end are not going to have any value at all.
And whilst that seems kind of down heartening it’s really not. I have a goal. I’m clear about that goal and I’m clear that I’m going to keep going until I hit it. How that goal is achieved is really not my business; the Universe will work that stuff out and I’m probably going to be as surprised as the next person.
What will bring me closer to my goal is to get really specific about what it is. Work for myself from anywhere in the world making lots and lots of money so I can live the life of my dreams.
I’m specific about the overall destination and, thanks to my work with 6 Minutes To Success I’m clearer about how I want to achieve that. I want to become a successful blogger. I plan to make money from information products helping as many people as I can.
I’m even getting really specific about the markets in which I want to do that: clothes, body acceptance, fat acceptance, lifestyle choices, happiness.
I have a website that’s generating traffic and some money (not even enough to cover costs yet) and I want to increase both. And that sentence right there is what I’ve got out of todays lesson. Get specific. Specifically what I want is to increase traffic for the month on www.bodyshapestyle.com from 50,000 pageviews for July to 75,000 pageviews in August. There is a information product on that site that is generating a little money. I’m currently getting clickthroughs of about 0.02% of pageviews and I’d like to bring that up to 1% of pageviews. If I could make $175.00 in sales for this program for the month of August that would be wonderful.
How’s that for specific!
[…] successful online business. The $25,000 is a milestone and that I’ve even broken it down into sub-plans if you like. But they’re all just plans. At the end of the day I will be free, somehow, […]
