I’ve had a challenge this week, from a good friend of mine, to find a piece of information and share it.
She’s not talking about sharing a funny cat video or any of the other random information that generally makes its way through my streams. This challenge is about finding a meaningful piece of information that resonates and inspires growth.
I love there’s actually someone in my life who is looking for resonating, inspiring information, but got to say, oh my god the pressure of it all!
I’ve had a very busy week where I’ve been working on email templates, social media and WordPress, all things that are completely out of my comfort zone. I’ve been frustrated and anxious and out of my depth all week. I’ve also been focussed, on task and productive, so, I guess that all sort of balances out.
I’ve been very conscious of reducing the amount of data I consume. I refer to it as going down the rabbit hole: you know that feeling when one thing leads to another which leads to another and before you know it a couple of hours have just evaporated.
Instead I read and watched what I watched. Some things resonated and stuck and others, well, not so much. In all cases I forced myself to move on to those things that really matter.
So, my challenge was find something that resonated. Instead of one thing, I’ve created a round up of those things made me smile or go aha this week. Check out what you will below.
My Week In Content
This is really interesting. “Follow your passion” is something we hear often, but it turns out, maybe that’s not such a good idea.
Courtesy Stigma and the Consequences of Deviance – a sobering look at the consequences of stepping outside of societies expectations. A designer decides to hire plus size models and his support staff quit in protest. It sounds like a clear cut case of good people vs bad people, but is it really that simple?
This just flat out makes me angry it’s so unnecessary – Sexed up Powerpuff Girls.
Unusual Stuff
This article shows Penthouse’s, as in the men’s magazine, abandoned palace in Croatia. They built a palace in Croatia, back in the days when it was actually Yugoslavia, where patrons could be served by scantily clad women.
Funny Stuff
A comic strip from the Frogman
The trailer for the new Lego movie. My favourite reviewer marked this movie “Recommend” which he very rarely does, so I look forward to seeing what it’s like.
And last, but certainly not least, a cat video. This is actually about cat cafes in Tokyo.
That’s it. Pick and choose as you please and have a great weekend!
